We see kids from Pre-K to grade 12. Wide variety of illness and injuries throughout the day. I also cover a high school level alternative learning environment which can include some counseling and health teaching.

Critical Care, including ICU, CCU, ER and Recovery Room. Medical surgical unit at VAMC. Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing demands many hours and devotion; caring for the elderly population is the most rewarding job that I've had in my career.

Will be available most Saturdays and Sundays. How many hours are required? How often will me meet?

I have a masters in nursing education. I have completed clinicals and worked in the skills labs. I currently work full time as the Success and Wellness Coordinator for nursing students at MUW in Columbus, MS. I also have a PRN position at the Women's Pavilion at DCH in Northport, AL. I have worked there for several years and have been an AWHONN instructor for the EFM intermediate course. I current have my RNC-OB.

This would be an academic practice setting for students who need practice hours in academic teaching. The setting is in the Accelerated BSN Apprentice program (ABSN-APP) at UAH College of Nursing.

I am the ABSN-APP Program Coordinator and I teach in multiple classes across the curriculum.

Inpatient behavior health (psych) experience.

Things that I have learned to make the psych rotation more fluid and helpful. Psych experience. Many students decide to do psych for two reasons 1) money 2) because they have friend or family that has a hx of autism or depression. Inpt psych is a whole new world and not to be taken lightly. I promise is it rewarding and a pretty cool experience. But what we don’t expect is for a new head nurse to understand the communication and behavior modifications that are necessary at times.

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - 24-bed unit caring for high acuity cardiac patients suffering with both medical and surgical diagnoses. Recover and manage post-surgery patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graphing, valve replacement, or aneurysm repair. Patients may be cannulated for ECMO, or have device placement such as an Impella, IABP, CRRT, or Zoll. We care for patients after a STEMI/N-STEMI who may have received a PCI.

Night shift on a 24-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit caring for high acuity cardiac patients suffering with both medical and surgical diagnoses. Recover and manage post-surgery patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graphing, valve replacement, or aneurysm repair. Patients may be cannulated for ECMO, or have device placement such as an Impella, IABP, CRRT, or Zoll. We care for patients after a STEMI/N-STEMI who may have received a PCI. A student would have ample opportunity for hands-on experience with such patients. Titration and understanding of vasoactive medications, high-risk medication administration, EKG interpretation, lab value comprehension and application in a high-paced critical care environment.

Specialized nursing experiences on this unit include, but are not limited to: Open heart surgery patients, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
